HMC

HMC | PR Agency

What is PR anyway? Well, basically they use communication in a planned and purposeful way to help clients protect and build relationships and reputation. HMC help you connect with the people who matter most to your business in the right channels, at the right time, with consistency. Many people think of ‘PR’ as publicity or media management. But HMC are WAY more than that. They do help clients tell stories through the media, and they also help them be seen and heard on a lot of different digital channels. You may even see them doing one of our client podcasts in The Library at Panama Square. HMC gives 100% of our profits to their founder’s family charity: www.allgood.ventures

Tell us about who HMC are and what you do? What makes HMC different to other PR firms?

At HMC, we are also a social enterprise.  We donate 100% of our profits to our founder’s family charity, All Good Ventures.  All Good Ventures helps social entrepreneurs around the world build businesses that free marginalised people from deprivation.  Since 2018, All Good Ventures has positively impacted over 375,000 lives. www.allgood.ventures

Who is your team made up of?

We have 6 staff at HMC, including our director, 3 senior account managers, a business manager and a visual communications specialist.  Our director and senior account managers work with our clients to develop communications strategies, build reputation through the media, assist with digital communications and help with issues and crisis management as required.  Our visual communications specialist is an all-round creative person who brings the team’s ideas to life through graphic design, video, illustration and more.

How long have you been a resident of Panama? Which Panama location are you located at and how/in what ways is it suitable for your business operations?

We’ve been a resident here for 3 years, in Panama Square.  It’s been a great location and clients love to visit us here!  We enjoy having access to the many flexible spaces for meetings, as well as being in the CBD.

What is one way HMC celebrates worklife balance?

At HMC, we are huge advocates of work-life balance.  Many on our team have families, so we offer the ability for flexible hours.  Plus, we all work from home on a Friday which our team enjoys.

What is your favourite part of the job?

At HMC, everyone on our team gets a buzz out of making a difference and working with our clients to achieve their goals.  One of our values is that we are ‘Impact Focussed.’  Every action we take for a client needs to be tied to a goal and achieving results. That’s the most rewarding part of our jobs!

Where is your favourite place to escape the office?

We all spend way too much money at Cream Eatery!  But who can blame us, as they are amazing.  On warm, sunny days we enjoy taking our lunch out to a Garden Place.  And a few of us are good at taking a walk around the block for a quick time-out during the day.

What are some challenges or evolutions you are seeing in your industry right now?

We’ve seen a huge impact, as many industries have, with the emergence of AI.  When ChatGPT launched, many of us were apprehensive about what this could mean for our industry.  But as we’ve worked with LLMs and other AI technologies, our team has become experts on how to use AI to enhance our work.  We are firm believers that human-generated strategies, stories and content will always be superior (at least for now!).  Therefore, we embrace AI technology at certain stages of our processes when there are efficiencies and other advantages that our clients can gain from the end-result.
